Sporting Clays

I haven’t seen many, but the sporting clays course at Cordillera Ranch has got to be as beautiful as any.

I’m ready to get back out there.  This is a shot they’re using to accompany a video they did last year.  Trish McCabe Rawls from Creative Noggin and Tracy Marlowe from KGB Texas were the directors.  Two very talented and creative people.

Not always necessary

Even though I’m sick/crazy/rabid/obsessed with HDR, I’m still not convinced it’s the holy grail, as some people say.  Here’s an outdoor walkway heading toward the bay at the South Padre Island Convention Center.  I took this one on a whim about five years ago, when I was more of a photographic idiot than I am now, and it still catches my eye when I take a virtual stroll through the stock.

Wishing

How I wish I’d known about HDR when I was at Brent Goodger’s South Padre Island Golf Club on this morning, last December (2006).  This would’ve been the perfect time for it.

Executive Golfer Magazine

Pick up a copy of the April 2007 issue of Executive Golfer.  They’ve got a nice story about Cordillera Ranch and the Hill family, complete with photos I took last year.  In my opinion, the lead image (looking back up the 14th hole, same as one above) looks too washed out in the magazine.  This is what it should look like.  Bad printing?  Bad prepress?  Who cares.

Hill Country Spring

For me, even a dreary afternoon with approaching spring storm can’t damper the Texas Hill Country landscape.  This is looking northwest up FM 1431 near Waterford.

Seems to be a good year for bluebonnets.  This one was on the side of the road between Marble Falls and Smithwick near Waterford.

Here’s the patio just off the lobby bar at Lakeway Resort & Spa.  Nice place to get fubar watch the sunset.
