Opus One

opus one wine

I’ve long proclaimed to be “not a wine drinker.”  Recently, I found out why:  cheap wine sucks.  This one, however, does not.  Probably because it’s not cheap.  By a long shot.  I’m now a wine drinker.  As long as I can afford to be.

This one’s mine.  I used to prefer that steel-string Takamine that’s sitting right in front of me, but I think I like the sound of this one better.

The computer hacker, that is.  Just want to be clear.  I’m sure McAfee has nothing against bad golf.

Falconhead Golf Club

Anyone been out to Falconhead lately?  Here’s a shot of the 5th green I took in 2004.  The golf course sure looked good back then.  I haven’t seen it since, and I haven’t heard much about it.  I wonder if they’ve dug up those ridiculous “trough bunkers.”  Fire off a comment if you’ve got any news from there.

I’ve been commissioned to shoot an incredible ranch out in the Hill Country.  This was a test shot I did for the client on a warm, cloudy winter day.

Nice to see my work on the cover of anything.  This was from a shoot I did for Design&Rhetoric over at Bridges on the Park, a downtown condo development by CLB Partners.

Grey Rock Golf Club

grey rock golf club austin texas

For those who didn’t know, The Golf Club at Circle C is now known as Grey Rock Golf Club.  Grey Rock is, in my opinion, the best of its class in the Austin area.  What’s it’s class?  Semi-private, high-end daily fee, whatever you want to call it.  You can be a “member,” or you can pay to play daily.  It’s a no-frills golf course with a solid management crew who try to improve it and themselves daily.  If it were a stock, Warren Buffett would call it “money lying in the street.”
