Washers

June 29, 2008

This image (or one like it) will appear in the next issue of Golf Business. Denise Fisher at Grey Rock in Austin, Texas asked me to shoot their washer pit for a segment in which Golf Business magazine profiles something unique about a golf facility. Washers may not be unique to Grey Rock, but the pit sure gets lots of use, and it’s in a really nice setting. Right in the prettiest spot on the property, and only a few steps from the bar.

Eleni’s work

June 16, 2008

This drawing brought home a highly coveted Gold Seal Medallion from the 2008 VASE (Visual Arts Scholastic Event) in Houston.  The seventeen year-old artist (Eleni) is the daughter of a friend of mine, who asked me to photograph the art.  What was I doing at 17?  Don’t ask.

Fossil Creek Golf Club

June 16, 2008

I played it last week, and although the course was in very nice condition, I doubt I’ll go back.  I expect to find a pro shop full of employees who don’t care, but this was a new level of apathy.  This guy was out on the golf course scrounging through carts, stealing what people bought from the beverage cart.

Laguna Madre

Just got back from South Padre Island.  Laguna Madre really is incredible.
