And while we’re on the subject, David Pilsner over at Bay Oaks will take home the award for STPGA Golf Professional of the Year. Another fine man, and very deserving of the award. David was a big supporter of mine back in the days of Austin Golf magazine, which was around the time I shot this one of him at the 2005 Joe Black Cup Matches out at Barton Creek. Congratulations, David.
There’s no telling how much this one cost Corey Lundberg, assistant pro at UT Golf Club, when it slid by the left edge. But the one that didn’t get away was the 2008 Southern Texas PGA Assistant Professional of the Year award. Corey will give his acceptance speech at the President’s Dinner at Royal Oaks in Houston sometime next month. With no disrespect intended toward past recipients, they gave it to the right guy this year. A throwback pro, this guy is. I’m sure the members at UTGC know what a good man they’ve got there. Congrats, Corey.
I wonder if the owners and members of Cordillera Ranch are aware of what a good golf pro they’ve got. Here he is modeling for me on the 3rd tee out there on a recent shoot. There used to be an ad for the PGA saying something about PGA Professionals wearing many hats. Add “modeling” to that list.
